Everyone deserves a gentle, safe and caring postpartum experience

Hey, I’m Amanda and I’m a Postpartum Doula in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I believe you are everything your baby needs. I believe that listening to your own intuition is a very important skill to build as a parent. When you are taken care of, rested and feeling connected to your baby, listening to your intuition becomes a lot easier. My goal is to help you feel calm and confident as a parent to your new baby. Everyone deserves to be supported during their transition into motherhood.

The word doula means “the one who mothers the mother” and that’s exactly what I do -caring for you so you can care for your baby all while feeling rested, calm and supported.

My approach

Every visit starts with me with checking in with you- maybe over a cup of tea or while I make you a nourishing meal. We will chat about what you need that day and make a plan together.

No two visits will look exactly the same and every family has different needs.

    • A shoulder to cry

    • Caring & non judgmental emotional support

    • Help with problem solving (family/relationships, etc)

    • Help with identifying & setting boundaries

    • Active listening

    • Help you navigate your birth experience (for partners too)

    • Provide you with a mental health checklist (PPD/PPA)

    • Relaxation massage

    • Demonstrate how to use baby carriers/wraps

    • Clean/tidy (vacuum, laundry, dishes, etc)

    • Help with showering post cesarian birth

    • Breastfeeding support & troubleshooting if things get tough

    • Bottle sanitizing

    • Organize & set up postpartum spaces

    • Care for baby while parents eat, rest, shower

    • Demonstrate infant care like bathing, bottle feeding, baby wearing, swaddling and nursing positions

    • Bathe baby

    • Caring for baby while parents bond with older children

    • Providing a list of local resources

    • Provide referrals upon request

    • Set up a sitz bath

    • Make ‘padsicles’

    • Listen to your birth experience

    • Prepare healthy snacks and meals

    • Set up a ‘meal train’ with family & friends

    • Place your online grocery order

I am a certified postpartum professional and a graduate of the postpartum doula program through DONA International

I have extended education and experience in breastfeeding
